N3 Engine Overhaul Services has, at the end of its Europe-wide search for a location on which to build its engine- overhauling plant, decided in favour of Arnstadt. Arnstadt lies in the heart of the charming countryside of the Free State of Thuringia, the most central of the German Federal States. The State Capital of Erfurt with its international airport is just a few kilometres away. The Industrial Estate “Erfurter Kreuz” is excellently connected by both rail and motorway to Germany’s most important air traffic junctions, Frankfurt and Munich. Engines may be transported to Arnstadt from either location within a matter of a few hours.

Moreover, both Leipzig – the site of DHL’s new European air freight hub – and Berlin are also not so far away. The excellent local infrastructure and the presence of highly-qualified specialists, flexible working hours and the extensive support on the part of the State Government in bringing the plant to this area all contribute to the attractiveness of the location for an aviation company.
